In 1996, ColorBond began seven years of testing and collaboration with Ford Research Labs to earn two Ford OEM Worldwide Performance Specifications for our LVP Refinisher. These specifications are the gold standard for OEM performance and quality and by meeting them ColorBond has shown LVP Refinisher is a 1-k system that can easily and economically repair or restore color to damaged plastic parts, leather and vinyl in the factory, field and at dealerships. Results demonstrated that ColorBond can be used anywhere, in any extreme, in any part of the world. The first specification being WSS-M2P-188-A1, which shows ColorBond passed 21 SAE Tests including Accelerated Weather Chamber, Xenon, Florida Weathering, and Abrasion-Adhesion-Heat and Cold Crack. The second specification is WSS-M99J385-A showing ColorBond passed all the tests in the previous specification, as well as others.

Of note: To determine the correct interior color for a vehicle, it is as simple as providing the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the parts department of a local Ford, GM, Toyota, etc. dealer and they can provide the color name associated with the VIN code. The color name can then be matched to the ColorBond Color Selector to choose the appropriate hue. Of note, ColorBond is in the process of developing a new web-based VIN decoder that will provide the color name.
